The DJI Phantom 4 Pro is the exact same drone as the Phantom 4 Pro+, but the controller lacks the built-in screen. Essentially, it is a Phantom 4 Pro+ drone with an old Phantom 4 controller. If you want top quality video and don't mind having to connect a smartphone or tablet in order to view the video downlink, then you can save a bit of money by opting for the Phantom 4 Pro over the Pro+.

With the Phantom 4 Pro you get the same drone as you would if you bought its Pro+ sibling. This means you get all the high end video quality, gimbal stabilization, and flight performance of our Editors' Choice Award winner. What do You Miss With the Phantom 4 Pro?


The only disadvantage to opting for the Phantom 4 Pro over the Pro+ is the controller, which lacks the built-in screen of the Pro+'s controller. While we feel the built-in screen has clear advantages in terms of brightness, immersiveness, and convenience, we found that attaching a smartphone the to Phantom 4 Pro's controller is more than adequate for precise maneuvering and framing the perfect shot.
